BIO:

Yumi's pic#7

Born in Switzerland, I grew up a happy child, practicing ballet after school and learning at a young age discipline and details. Came 16 years old and I was on my way to the Ballet Institute of Antwerp (Belgium) with a 2 years scholarship.

Soon after, another scholarship came along, but this time a little farther. New York City, School of American Ballet (SAB) was the new destination. At that time I was introduced to the practice of Yoga at the Integral Yoga Center on 13th street. This came to light after a doctor strong suggestion to help me over come a eating disorder. It was the discovery of this beautiful path that allowed me to recover. Employed and performing in the dance world around New York City area, I was offered to work for the New York Metropolitan Opera as a background Super and Dancer. It lasted many years until the decision to move to California came in mind.

Later, retiring from the dance world, I kept a creative mind and started to explore the world of Design. Called to move again, I finally arrived in Miami, FL. I was hired by the Grove Gallery and Interiors and became a Senior Visual Coordinator and Certified Interior Decorator (C.I.D) International, which after 25 years of employment, I had to resign as my family had to relocate on the West Coast of Florida.

DSC_0920  In need of a deeper emotional balance after the birth of my son, I turned once again to Yoga , to the point in which it became an essential part of my life. Taking classes with many local teachers and been a mom, the interest on Yoga for Education and children came in my interest and became Certified by YogaED.

Later, I was introduced to Edwin Bergman at Yoga That Studio in Miami Beach, FL.  I enrolled in YogaWorks Teacher Training under his guidance and became Certified, which then was invited to teach at his Studio. Workshops and Seminars later, I am constantly expending and evolving in my own practice and love to share this knowledge directly to my students.

Edwin Bergman is still presently my mentor, among others and I am so grateful for his teaching and knowledge on multiple levels. He inspires me to keep growing and never stop learning.

I recently relocate with my family in LaBelle on the other coast of Florida and looking to build a new Yoga community in this area.
